We are proud to be commencing something important in the Australia and New Zealand region in 2020.

Our initial team of volunteers are made up mainly of Rotarians across multiple Districts all keen to learn about and honour our Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples  and

our New Zealand Maori peoples.

More than ever before, the changing times we live in, inspire us to come together in collaboration. By walking together, and leveraging each others’ strengths, we can build a better Australia for future generations.

By gaining awareness and understanding for each others’ differences and environments, communities begin to break down harmful stereotypes and acknowledge contributions of both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous peoples.

HIP was co-created in Canada with a strong list of stakeholders including Indigenous Elders, Rotarians, Teachers, Education Councilors, Knowledge Keepers and other ethical leaders and now we are bringing it to Australia.

Thank you for visiting us. We invite you to explore HIP’s growing list of resources.

Our vision is that all Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Peoples work together,
interconnected and interdependent, for the benefit of future generations.

While HIP Australia, like our counterpart in Canada, remains focused on education, awareness and relationship building, we place emphasis on building of meaningful, equitable and long-lasting relationships. By creating bonds and supporting one another, we employ key elements needed to walk the path together.
